  3. Cashner was clearly overthrowing........frigg'n locating 98mph isn't enough, gotta try to pump it up to 101?
  4. Greeney03 Administrator

Walk off walk. Thank you Thatcher.
  5. starbucksgod Member Since '05

I am really really going to be sick!
  6. Someone needs to just punch Thatcher in the face
  7. Greeney03 Administrator

I know Spence pitched for last night, but damn, really Thatcher?
  8. Horrible horrible job by Cashner and Thatcher tonight..
  9. Talondor Member

Very disappointing loss. Especially after the comeback to tie it in the ninth.

Now I am to the point where I want to sit down and see this group of players just go out and play a clean game. Make the plays in the field, if they strike out, strike out on pitches that are not fastballs down the middle or fastballs out of the zone, put together good at bats, and just see what happens. I still think this squad can win.
  11. SDSUBaseball Go Blues!

Cashner too. Two quick outs and then 3 walks? Groove a fastball you mongoloids.

  12. Fundamental baseball should be a given at this level......hell I expect it out of HS kids......BB and the entire coaching staff should be walking on eggshells at this point
  13. SDSUBaseball Go Blues!

Well yeah even with all the shitty Ks they still scored 8. The Padres don't score 8 and lose. Pitching and defense was awful.

Oh and Hudson might be the worst player on this team.

  15. Exactly SDSU......even with all the K's the bats still got them back in it.......but when you're defense up the middle boots everything and your bullpen arms can't throw strikes.....that's just unacceptable
  16. Parrino...........Parrino.........Parrino...........Parrino.........Parrino...........Parrino.........Belnome......Belnome.........Belnome......Belnome.........Belnome......Belnome.........
  17. SDSUBaseball Go Blues!

Yeah I'd like to see a lot more Parrino. Even though Bartlett has struggled with the glove I like him better than Hudson and anyone else we have for SS. Bartlett has hit OK too.

These infielders need to realize Yonder is mediocre at best. Especially Chase. He is to used to Adrian.
  18. Never been so happy to see Guzman out and Hermida in......lol

this whole team should go back to Tuscon or San Antonio, they blow. This is the worst team I have seen in years. Pads lead the league in errors (18) and strikeouts (82), that is a horrible combination to have.
  20. starbucksgod Member Since '05

Yeah thats what I meant when I said a clean game. i added the thing about the strikeouts because even though they scored eight runs, it was far from a clean game offensively. There were some horrific at bats thrown in especially in Harang's streak of nine. But i agree that it was definitely the pitching and the sad defensive play that definitely was the main factor to yesterday's travesty.

Kemp is welcoming Weiland in a big way.

I agree PFF. Kelly should have been called up instead of Wieland.

This team is so bad. They could lose 110 easily.
  26. starbucksgod Member Since '05

okay so I'm over LA, lets go play someone else.
  27. Again why does Kemp or Ethier ever see a strike ? At this point they should be wearing a ball square in the back to make a point
  28. chilli311 Moderator

Way to rally! All tied up!

  29. Bases loaded and Headley swings at the first pitch and grounds out weakly......ugh
  30. I still think this team will find a way to lose this game today.
  31. Not exactly going out there on a limb smack
  32. Thatcher strikes out Ethier. That's what he needed to do on Friday night..
  33. chilli311 Moderator

LMAO! Only the Padres could have S*** like that happen against them.

  34. And now a triple play on a bad call by the umpires..
  35. starbucksgod Member Since '05

He fricken signaled foul ball at first...I am so over it.
  36. chilli311 Moderator

The replay showed the ball bounce behind homeplate, and then roll forward. I thought its a foul if it lands behind the plate.

  37. Negative. If the ball is not touched and rolls fair, it is a fair ball.

My biggest complaint is with the jackass behind homeplate holding his arms up indicating foul for two seconds and then calling it a fair ball. How does that not have an impact as to what our base runners are doing?

Thanks for the clarification. That whole.situation was absurd. That locker room has to be reeling right now.

BTW, good game this week in the fantasy league. We were going back and forth the last couple days.

whoever Wahoo Warriors is. Anyay, I bet Bud Black aint getting much sleep, though I think we really have a shot getting it going against Colorado.
  42. Our pitching matches up as good as it gets against CO....hopefully Hudson and Guzman are benched in favor of Hermida and Parrino for the series
  43. SDSUBaseball Go Blues!

Our pitching doesnt match up with anyone right now.
  44. Nah. I like Luebke/Bass/Richard vs. any three if the defense doesn't S*** on them and the bats don't go to sleep............................oh yeah and the umps don't decide to change the rules mid game

Gonna be funny to see the Dodgers come back down to earth now that they dont play two of the worst teams in baseball for a while. May will be a tough month for them. The Padres are the worst team I have seen in a while...they have no clue about fundamental baseball and dumbass Bud Black is leading this ship right into the iceberg. He doesnt have the balls to tell them they are playing shitty, and they need to buck up or get out. I still cant believe he continues to put Maybin in the leadoff spot, and doesnt let Baker get more starts. Hundley got his first hit, yay...now sit his A** and let Baker get a chance. Also, dont throw Cashner out there every fkin game..the guy had shoulder surgery last year ya idiot.
  46. Greeney03 Administrator

I would give Venable a chance to lead off once in a while. He's gonna have to change things up a bit.
  47. xelance Member

A bit is definitely an understatement

Also, I can see him getting fired this year. Seriously.
  49. When you play as bad as the Padres have, everything just kind of snowballs on you and you really get no breaks at all (which is what happened in the LA series). The thing that gives me hope is that they have played close games, but they haven't found a way to finish them at all. But what bugs me is that Black hasn't called out Hudson, Bartlett or the whole team as a matter of fact in their horrible start to the season..

Thats exactly what I am hoping for.

"Well, hey ya know, we have been playing some good baseball. We have things to improve on, but it's there. We are just pressing a little bit. Hundley is starting to hit, we are generating some offense..things are looking up." - not Bud Blacks words but an example of his homerism
  52. xelance Member

Here is a real quote from Bud Black :

"Things in the first 10 games have not gone our way," Black said. "We've been in close games that have hinged on a few plays late in the game.
"But our players know how they need to play and know that we're not playing that way right now."

Heres one about the triple play :

    "The whole play looked funky.

:rofl: They know how they need to play and they aren't playing that way right now. Well...no S***, then why the hell do you keep starting them? Bench their asses. The reverse is also true, if they are playing well, then reward them..positive reinforcement.Perfect example is benching Denorfia the day after he hits a 2 run homer to win the dang game. Prove for once that you are a leader for God's sake.
